MLC School, Burwood, NSW

MLC School, formerly known as the Methodist Ladies College is located in the inner western Sydney suburb of Burwood. It was founded in 1886 as a school to prepare students for admittance to the University of Sydney. It was also one of the first schools in Australia to offer girls the same level of education as boys. Today the independent Uniting Church School is exclusively for girls for all age groups.

Project Design Brief

A $33M upgrade included the demolition of six buildings and the creation of new ones. Drainage was required around the building line and across door access openings for both runoff and wind-blown rain. Designers also required all drains to be foot friendly and visually discreet.
